Title: A new kind of farm
Post by: NateN on April 27, 2012, 02:34:22 am
Anyone interested? I'm thinking about building one, it would take weeks though due to limited materials.

Watch Video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6guzfvWvrhA&feature=related)

I think it would be fun :)

Great idea. Can't donate much though.

EDIT: in order to save moneys for the piston crusher if are using it, we can put normal pistons. It'll take a bit of rearranging for the design.

Sweet video! I'll think about it, but since the member+ world's coming out, I don't want to invest in something big.... :-\ Either way, Good luck! ;)

Pretty sweet, great post I appreciate the video. I saw a similar video with a mine cart and he'd just afk riding it. This is a good one, too. It seems they spawn more.

Finally a great video with good sound..
Nice idea.
I am not interested since I have never used gold in game. I have 47 pieces I think and I have used only one gold ingot.
Moreover, I face tremendus lag in Nether and I go once a week or so.

I figure I can use it for power rails (yes, please), and double it as an exp farm. I can sell excess good (one stack of pieces=500$

This is an awesome farming idea, the only problem you're going to have is keeping the 144 block radius cleared as, no doubt, people will see a large open area and want to build in it.

Not sure if this kind of idea would be possible, but possibly worth a try?

A lot of half slabs for that area, but cobble is easy to come by. What I forgot after watching this video again was all the slime for the pistons. Need. More. Slime. A lot of the cool stuff needs sticky pistons in Minecraft (i.e. piston doors).

I guess if you undertake this project with a friend, gathering slime wouldn't be too bad. Hope to see this underway soon. The lava was a great idea, Doom, btw.

I was planning on lava and slab to cover it. Also, I created a design with regular pistons, not sticky

Mods don't do that. I have asked for a cobblestonegerator and that is not allowed. I don't think mods will place lava in the nether either. Enough lava there!

Well, mining the 400 odd by 400 odd area, as you, will need one hell of a lot of pickaxes...
AND it's gonna sure as hell take you a long time to find all that space...
