we could have hidden chests with x mark so that people can adverture through out the world and find treasures.
-
Good idea ;D i support this idea because so many newbies need help that other players can't help ;D ;D ;D

Hmm, Sounds good and would be exciting BUT there's always a but; people would use x-ray mods to find one.
-
don't the people who uses x ray mod get banned? and you can see chests with x ray?

well not exactly. only if they get caught. just like griefing they cant keep an eye on every player since there is over 100 players on 24/7 many players would get away with it.

That leads us to another question: Is there a way to check the texture pack a player is using?
Anyway it is really not hard to find out a guy using a x-ray texture pack or mod because people will always try to go directly to the ores etc. and they will mine in an unusual way. Btw in x-ray,I believe, chests are also invisible.

An X-Ray texture pack is completely undetectable from the server side of things because it is 100% client sided.
The only way to detect it is with the observation of player movements.
ie if they are digging massive 2x1 holes in all directions until they hit diamonds or chests or whatnot, then clearly they are using an unfair texture pack.
Besides that the hidden chests thing is stupid in my opinion, If you feel ambitious go out yourself and put a bunch of chests with items in them for newbies to find. There is no point in making mods do something like this.

The chests are visible in X-ray.
But in this server its pointless since all the chests get cprivate lock.
So, even if they find it, they can do nothing.

You can always do /cremove on chests. By the way it is not a stupid idea because if we put some valuable stuff in those chests, they will be valuable and you want always to find one. It is much like finding a dungeon and it would be nice since it can make the game more interesting.
PS: 100th POST!!!!

This is a SURVIVAL SERVER! Again, we are already pushing survival with the market. We don't need to have an X chest thing

We have chestnseek sometimes, you should play.

Like Oreo said. We already have some events. And that is enough. This server is already to easy. If we have every week a event, then everyone was rich. If you want a event, make one. Easy enough.
