Welp, that was a brain teaser for me :o I read the entire thing
Quite the calculations you made and went through for this.
Now, make a scientific assumption of how Creative mode work ::)

I have an idea:

compare the drop of a certain block from the drop key (q), drop from a despensor, and drop from a dropper (1.5)
then compare that to another certain block
then compare those to real life

It doesn't matter what it's dropped from, or what it is, everything falls at 14.4622 m/s2 in Minecraft. I also made the comparison to real life in the article.

I am amazed lol

Wyboth you are both insane and a genius

Edit : also
(click to show/hide)

It seems there is no wind resistance (or that it is so small it does not effect anything) seeing as every block falls at the same rate.
Wyboth why don't your retry this with sand or gravel blocks and drop them with a piston? Since those blocks actually have "gravity" I think it would be a neat twist to the experiment.

This may explain why Steve is dense lol

And I know if it were earth they would be the same but I was suggesting you do it with sand or gravel because they aren't the only two blocks that have gravity so it was just the thought.

Haha, thanks. I also posted it on Minecraft Wiki. It's still there, so I take that as an accomplishment.

All I can say is wow. You sir have to much time on your hands lol. All games operate on rules (I haven't coded any but I have created some games using different programs.) One of the hardest rules to understand is the gravity rule. You explained it very well. Good job.

Thank you! I would have just looked inside of the code, but I wanted to emulate real world science. I.E. in real life, you can't look inside the code for the acceleration of gravity.

It doesn't matter what it's dropped from, or what it is, everything falls at 14.4622 m/s2 in Minecraft. I also made the comparison to real life in the article.

well, there are objects in minecraft that fall slower than that, like sand and dragon eggs.

nice piece of maths and physics.

I haven't confirmed that yet, but I will check soon. I can't do it today, though. And thank you.

I have 2 parties that helped me. Mojang and Issac Newton.

But really, this is awesome. And do items and gravel/sand/anvils fall the same? Also minecarts on slopes?
