pvp+optifine=?

optifine has always been allowed. but in pvp it can give a player a huge advantage being able to see through lava and water, also being able to zoom in.

Optifine you can't see through the water/lava entirely, its just clearer.

Even if people using Optifine did have an advantage, I don't think you'd find someone hiding in lava.

i'd hide under lava with a bow, wait for a nametage then flamming arrows from beneath the lava....

but we don't have pvp so it's irrelevant

The transparent lava would only be used if you were in lava. I'm speaking from experience

Why would Creative mode be used in PvP matches? You do realize that you can't go in to lava, unless you like to kill yourself a lot.

you can hide in a hole under lava held up by a ladder...... you don't need creative to do it

you can also have water under the ladder holding up the lava, then jump into the lava and survive since the water underneath it would put out the fire.

you could even go so far as to create a short maze out of the lava, such that they need to go left or right to find the water that would put out the fire. this is probably the most useful situation to have optifine since u could see the path and spend less time burning. it could also be like a 5x5 square of lava with one safe block to jump into and it helps to be able to see the opening.

also there's the situation of "oh shit i fell/was knocked into lava" well if u have a bucket of water + optifine then u can see the bottom of the lava pit and be capable of rapidly placing blocks and/or water to save yourself.

it's not really that far fetched either since most pvp servers allow u time to prepare before worrying about someone killing u while u make ur lava safe house..

but again, until we get some kinda pvp system it's all irrelevant anyway.

And the only thing I have to say t that is how are they collecting and placing lava? I presume that the same permissions like water and lava would be carried over so mod+ would be the only able to place lava.

Seeing as all players can use Optifine, this shouldn't really matter, and who would go through the trouble to turn off all those options just for PvP? Not many people even know of this (excluding me) considering how many people ask daily to turn off the rain. I have never actually seen rain in Minecraft ever since Like May lol

It's not a suggestion, even if he meant for this to be a suggestion it's really not.
I don't see anyone here discussing a suggestion, so I don't know where you got that from.
