Live Map Not Updating
« on: November 08, 2014, 05:04:24 am »
It seems the live map hasn't updated since the downtime that resulted in the servers update to 1.8 support. Also while we're at it it'd be great if the blocks from more recent updates could be added as well. Thaaaanks

There's no posts overtaking this one so I don't think there's any need to bump it. It's just a matter of Optical actually seeing this.

Its been over a month where nothing has been said at all in regards to the issue. If you aren't aware we have 3 "admins" who could willing just state they are trying to sort this issue by reaching out to optical. We all know that sometimes opti himself doesn't like to do his own talking. Fortunately he has  admins to oversee and carry the burden too. And quite frankly there is a reason to bump a topic if nothing is being done about it... Because like you said, it has to be seen. Just some food for thought.

Edit: Also, I  get that fixing an issue on the creative server is a lot easier. The server is directly owned making it a lot more assessable. But if it takes over a month get a response for a thread dedicated solely to support for our SMP server. It really makes you wonder what our priorities are.

I was just telling you all why it doesn't need to be bumped so often, but now that you've gotten so defensive maybe I should give you a bit of food for thought too. The only way Nick, Tobs, or any of us can contact Optical is here on the forums, so how do you think telling him about things like this would work? Burden this burden that, maybe you should try take some action if you think nothing is getting done? Talk to Nick or Tobs about it if it's bothering you that much, bitching and bumping a thread won't get anything done either.

If you didn't catch the point of my post... All that merely had to be said was that the issue was being worked on. If Nick or Tobs were in the works of reaching out to optical about the livemap let us know, dont leave us hanging for a month

"try to take some action if you think nothing is getting done?" Thats the idea... How are any of us supposed to know if the livemap is getting worked on if we don't hear anything??

Like I said, how would you like Nick or Tobs to contact him, and what do you want them to tell you all? "Uhh hey guys, we told Optical about this issue, now lets wait for him to login and see the message"

They're gonna tell you exactly what I did. They might also tell you that they have lives, and that not everyone can be on here all the time to make this a wonderful place. It's nearing Christmas, end of semester tests/exams, give them a break eh? They do a lot more than you think and you're making it seem like they don't do jack.

I  wouldn't expect anyone to be on here 24/7 lol... But to answer your question that's sort of  the whole point of this topic. If they cant rectify the issue themselves the next logical step would be to contact opti no? And after all lets not forget that this is the support section of the forum. Feedback would be nice.

We have bigger things that we are currently waiting for optical to work with, we are not going to bug optical with every little request someone has, and as this isn't game breaking we are not going to go out of our way to contact optical outside of the forums. When optical gets a chance he can look at this, none of us knows when that'll be. When optical gets the time and wants to he will be able to try and fix it.

Also, replying "bump" to DK's original post I can only see you having done in spite. Please don't be an ass for the sake of it.
