It looks like it has a massive amount of potential. This actually turns minecraft into an engineers and programmers wet-dream instead of limiting it into Lego fanatics and architecture practitioners.
I also believe that Mojang should buy the work of these mods from private programmers at around 500-1000 dollars and put their name in the credits to further the portfolio of these guys working and radically improving the game we love. Then they implement them into the original client and fix any bugs that pop up with their own development team, and the game becomes that much more vast.
Also they can implement options in their menu that can turn off/on the new additions so if people want to play vanilla they have that option always available to them.
